Mrs. Heidrun Tempel emphasized the importance of the medical relations, as well as the relations available for many years between Azerbaijan and Germany in other fields and appreciated current and future perspectives of the organization of such events.<\/p>\n

Then Prof. Dr A.Aliyev, First Deputy General Director of National Centre of Oncology, chairman of the congress, was given floor. A.Aliyev stressed the very essential progress achieved in medicine in Azerbaijan during last decades beside in all fields of our life. He also gave detailed information about the reforms carried out in National Centre of Oncology in recent years. Furthermore, he stressed that improvement of life quality of oncology patients was one of the main priorities of the National Centre of Oncology. Prof. Dr G.Kaehler, the Director of Endoscopy Department of the University of Mannheim spoke about the cooperation between University Clinic of Mannheim and Germany-Azerbaijan Medical Cooperation Association and expressed her satisfaction regarding her visits to our country and being the president of this congress. At the end of her speech she wished success to the participants of the congress and trainings.<\/p>\n

Then Dr. D. Uyak, Prof. Dr. M.Niedergethmann and Prof. Dr. S.Demirbash made their speeches.<\/p>\n

At the end of the opening ceremony G. Muslumov, the Executive Director of the congress, emphasized the great role of the relations between Turkish and German medical centres in the development of medicine in our country. Moreover, he specially stressed support of National Centre of Oncology for organization of such events. At the same time, he said that it was gratifying that the trainings held for the first time in Azerbaijan had gained 21 CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits recognized by leading countries of the world.<\/p>\n
